Adrian’s background as a vocalist is rooted in musical theatre. She began attending performing arts school in 6th grade. More of a dancer than a singer, she performed regularly throughout high school and college; however, the arts were more of an outlet while her studies took precedence. She received her BA in Geology from Bryn Mawr College in 1998. As a junior, Adrian joined a 13-piece funk cover band, Hiram. Hiram planted the seed and after college Adrian sought out pop-funk, piano based singer-songwriter, Josh Dodes, in NYC.

I sang with josh for 6 years. We did a few small scale U.S. tours in a beat-up van our manager bought from a Christian youth group. We had to use the seat belt from the middle seat to hold the side door shut and a conga drum to hold up the front seat. We slept on fans' floors, froze our asses off with the windows down trying to stay awake for the drive to the next town. We played a 3-hour gig for literally 2 people in Virginia Beach. When they left we kept playing.

Home base for the Josh Dodes Band was the Bitter End, but the band was eventually booking gigs at the Mercury Lounge, Bowery Ballroom, and Irving Plaza, and sharing the stage with artists such as Maceo Parker, the B52s, Pat Benetar, and Avril Lavigne. In 2001 the band was selected as a finalist for VH1’s reality show “Bands on the Run.” Adrian recorded an album with Josh (his sophomore, Freak), which was released in 2003.

These were all very formative years. Still, I found myself doing laundry in my bathtub and decided I needed a consistent day job.

The momentum began to die down not too long after Freak was released. The band eventually broke up and Adrian moved away from music over the next three years while working as a concrete analyst. When her feet started to itch again she bought a motorcycle and rode out into the desert for 3 months. Soon after this leave of absence she received a call to audition to sing back-ups for electro-clash, performance art extravaganza, Fischerspooner. She got the gig and quit her day job. Fischerspooner moved to Ibiza for 3 months after securing a residency at notorious club, Privilege with Manumission. During this time, the band also played numerous festivals and other one-offs throughout Europe and Asia.

We slept in hotels. We had cheese plates and Jack Daniels. Musician heroes I couldn't imagine opening for came to see US play...well, they came for Casey but whatever.

Around the same time Fischerspooner decided to scale back their touring band, Adrian was seeking out other musicians for collaboration and writing her own music. She was looking for that perfect bipolar sound... (“somewhere between Mars Volta, Clutch and Jeff Buckley“) when she landed The Blue Man gig-- to understudy Tracy Bonham. Adrian was invited to assume Tracy’s role on the 2nd leg of the tour, in February of 2007.
Over the past 2 years Blue Man Group’s Megastar world tour has completed 2 domestic runs, and has been to Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, France, Belgium, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Denmark and South Korea. So far, Megastar has been translated into 8 languages.

The tour just completed a 2-month sit down in Lisbon, Portugal, 2 weeks in the UK in May, and is currently in Tel Aviv.
